About Us
The Chocolate Cake Company is a family business owned and run by Murray and Elizabeth Thwaites. Starting in February 1998, they purchased the secret fudge cake recipe, and acquired the newly established Chocolate Cake Company, one of the first original Chocolate Cake Companies in Auckland which started with only the brand name.
Murray and Elizabeth incorporated their daughters Jessica and Hannah into their brand identity and marketing to great success for 14 years. The brand has recently been revamped much to their delight and now follows the clean shape of our cakes.
Following on from the success of the company being based in Howick, Murray and Elizabeth took a leap to open another store in New Zealand’s capital, Wellington.
Due to the increase in sales and turnover of Wellington, larger premises and more ovens were required to meet demand.
The Chocolate Cake Company is a great believer of giving back to the community for the support it receives from it. The Chocolate Cake Company has given time and money to sponsor individuals and organisations.
Murray and Elizabeth are still the owners of both stores and are immensely proud of the brand that they have created.
